A quick and easy Thai-style beef stir-fry featuring thinly sliced steak, colorful vegetables, and a savory sauce, best served with steamed jasmine rice.
In a medium size bowl combine all the sauce ingredients (Soy Sauce, Chili Oil, Fish Sauce, Sugar, Corn Starch) and set aside. In a large pan on medium/high heat, add a little vegetable oil and the thinly sliced steak. Season with salt and pepper. Sear the steak on both sides to your liking, then remove from the pan and set aside. (NOTE: cook 80% of the way to how you like it, as it will continue to cook when added back to the pan later). Next, add the sliced sweet onion and red bell pepper to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes. Then add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant for about 1 minute. Next, add the prepared sauce and once it has slightly thickened, add the beef back to the pan, followed by the lime juice, chopped basil, chopped coriander, and sliced green onion. Once the steak is cooked through, you are ready to serve with steamed jasmine rice.
