A recipe for crispy fried chicken wings tossed in a sweet and spicy homemade Mango Habanero Buffalo sauce. This dish combines the heat of habanero with the sweetness of mango for a unique twist on classic buffalo wings.
Cut the wing tip off the wing and separate the drum from the flat at the joint. Place wings in a large bowl and season with 3 Tbsp vegetable oil, garlic powder (1 Tbsp), onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Heat vegetable oil (in a deep fryer or cast iron skillet) to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. (NOTE: Do not fill the oil past 1/2 way for safety). Fry chicken wings for 12-15 minutes until crispy. When the internal temperature of the chicken wings is 165 degrees Fahrenheit they are done. Place wings on a wire rack to let the excess oil drip off. In a medium size pot on med/low heat, add butter, hot sauce, worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, mango habanero sauce, garlic powder (1 Tsp), salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer for 2 minutes. Finally in a large bowl, toss chicken wings in mango habanero buffalo sauce. Plate it up and Enjoy!
